Sian Nolan, Solicitor at PBW Law Glasgow - public inquiries, FAIs and civil litigation

Solicitor

Sian is a Solicitor at PBW Law, having qualified in February 2026 after developing substantial experience in complex litigation and inquiry work with the firm.

She has particular experience in Public Inquiries and Fatal Accident Inquiries and has been involved in a number of significant and high-profile proceedings, including the Scottish COVID-19 Inquiry, the Emma Caldwell Inquiry and the Park Inn Inquiry. Sian regularly assists with the preparation and conduct of complex inquiry work, representing the interests of clients throughout proceedings and working closely alongside experienced Advocates and King’s Counsel.

Her inquiry practice has given her considerable experience in the detailed analysis of evidence, the preparation of witnesses and the management of substantial and often sensitive bodies of material. She understands the demands placed upon clients involved in lengthy and complex proceedings and takes a thorough and considered approach to both case preparation and client care.

Alongside her inquiry work, Sian has developed a broad civil litigation practice. Her experience includes personal injury actions, uninsured loss recoveries and a variety of other contentious civil matters. She is involved in cases from their earliest stages through to court proceedings, with experience in the preparation of pleadings, productions, witness evidence and written submissions.

Sian also works closely with the firm’s Partners on criminal matters, assisting with the preparation of cases for trial and attending court in connection with criminal proceedings. This breadth of experience has given her a strong grounding across both civil and criminal litigation and an understanding of the strategic and evidential issues which can arise where different areas of law intersect.

Since joining PBW Law, Sian has worked as part of the firm’s specialist litigation team on matters requiring careful preparation, sound judgment and close collaboration with senior Counsel. Her developing practice reflects the firm’s wider strength in complex contentious work, particularly in cases involving public bodies, police officers and proceedings attracting significant public scrutiny.

Sian was educated at the University of Strathclyde, where she obtained her LLB (Hons) Law Degree and Diploma in Professional Legal Practice. Before joining PBW Law, she gained experience with a number of law firms across different practice areas, including personal injury litigation, immigration and human rights law.

She brings a diligent and practical approach to her cases and is committed to ensuring that clients are well prepared, well informed and effectively represented throughout what can often be demanding and complex legal proceedings.
